T-Image! beta recognizes / translates the text contained in a picture taken with a mobile phone camera, e.g. newspapers, menus, books, ads, business cards, etc.
By clicking on the recognition button on the next page, one can correct the automatic recognition and send it for translation.
T-Image! beta works fine if the mobile has autofocus capabilities and we
1) avoid text distortion and perspective,
2) hold still use good lighting, and turn off the flash,
3) fill the screen with the document (best if portrait or landscape).
4) take a sharp and focused photo (not blurred).
5) use a maximum resolution of 1 Mpixel.
Recommended models: Nokia N73 or above, Sony Ericsson K750 or above, or equivalent of other brands.
T-Image! beta is a machine translator and not a human translator. To obtain the best translation quality,
1) Avoid abbreviations and non-common words.
2) Keep the grammar as simple as possible.
3) Try to avoid words with multiple meanings.
4) Check the spell.
